I can not get on board with this Catholic theology. What about the parable of the prodigal son? The son never stopped belonging to his father. I do not believe 1 "mortal sin" would revoke your salvation, you would still belong to God. I believe only perpetual deliberate sin that is unrepentant could. Just like if my spouse were to cheat one time in a moment of weakness, I would be devastated, but in time, we could repair the brokenness. But if my spouse were to repeatedly and consistently have affairs, that would show he clearly does not want me and does not love me. Also, it appears to me that the belief is that if an unborn baby dies, they would not go to heaven. Am I understanding that correctly?

I flew out to be at my mother's bedside when she passed on. For 10 years, she was tied to an oxygen tank bec of emphysema. The doctors took her off of all her medications and oxygen, so she was barely able to take a breath for several days. But within 10 seconds of her dying... she Screamed Bloody Murder! It made me think about that movie Ghost, with Patrick Swayze, when the demons came and got the guy who was hit by a car, and then he was dragged off kicking and screaming into the abyss. I was raised in church with my family but we never read my Bible until I was 50yo. 7 years ago I found out it only takes 1 Day to Listen to the New Testament Bible,l.
